Job Description BAE Systems' Electronic Systems sector is
seeking an Employee and Labor Relations Leader located at our Fort
Wayne, Indiana sites. This position is seeking candidates who can
build strong partnerships with management and union leadership
through the resolution of employee grievances, and contract
interpretation/negotiations. This role supports over 1200 union and
non-union employees across two sites and includes manufacturing,
engineering, program management and functional resources. This
leadership role will be responsible for driving proactive, positive
employee and labor relations for their customer community, while
coaching leaders to success and managing employee relations issues.
The position reports to the Director, Employee and Labor Relations
and will be based on-site in Fort Wayne.Because this role involves
a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, all
work will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be
conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the
time.**Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this
specific position requires US citizenship status** Primary
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain effective working
relationships with management and employees to provide advice and
counsel on employee-related and organizational matters, serving as
an employee advocate and as a coach to employees and
leaders.Leverage data and insights to assess site climate and
implement short- and long-term HR initiatives, in partnership with
HR Business Partners and local leadership, to mitigate risks and
improve business performance.Manage performance improvement plans,
grievances, claims, investigations and terminations, in partnership
with HR Business Partners, Legal, Ethics, Security and other key
stakeholders.Coach leaders on performance management, change
management and other actions to improve organizational
effectiveness and employee engagement.Collaborate with the broader
HR network (i.e. HR Business Partners, Talent Management, DEI, HR
Analytics) to develop and deploy strategies that address site
needs.Leverage process improvement tools and methodology to seek
new innovative ways to automate and streamline HR processes.Lead
and support special projects as assigned.Required Education,
Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8+ years of
experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant
experience is required.
- Must have strong experience in complex investigations,
organizational diagnostic skills and developing creative solutions
to work environment challenges.
- Labor relations experience
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws
- Must have experience in coaching and developing leaders.
- Must have the ability to build relationships and
influence.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%Preferred Education,
Experience, & Skills
- This position will be located in Fort Wayne, IN, candidate must
be local to the site or be willing to relocate.
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP or PHR / SPHR certifications
- Experience working in matrixed organization.
- Experience in project management and continuous improvementPay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $101520 - $172620Please note:
This range is based on our market pay structures. However,
individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors
including, but not limited to: business considerations, local
market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate
qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Employee
