Job Description:
SUMMARY: Manages, leads, trains, coaches, coordinates, and
disciplines the mortgage department and staff; oversees the
planning and execution of mortgage and business lending projects.
Responsible for all mortgages lending programs, from developing and
origination through and including final documentation. Direct and
manage mortgage strategic plans, policies, and procedures while
maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:Leads, manages, supervises, and develops mortgage
department staff and ensures adequate department
coverage.Responsible for marketing products, services, and the
credit union to referral sources; i.e. Real Estate Agents; title
company executives and personnel, insurance company personnel, Real
Estate appraisers, pest inspectors, and home inspectors.Ensures
mortgage audit and exam findings are addressed and communicated in
a timely manner.Responsible for product development and
enhancement.Conduct monthly department meetings.Responsible for all
compliance issues, including but not limited to, RESPA, Reg Z, Reg
B, TRID, and closing documents.Must be available to perform evening
and weekend work as required by marketplace demands.Must be
prepared to make recommendations about technology and software.As
directed, responsible for financial analysis and profitability of
all mortgage products. Has basic knowledge of spreadsheets, word
processing, and mortgage production software.Understands how the
secondary market works with regard to FNMA, FREDDIE MAC, GNMA and
others. Also, has a thorough working knowledge of the underwriting
guidelines of the above markets.Responsible for all follow-up
issues within the mortgage area, including communications with
management staff and board members on all programs and special
projects.Must keep abreast of all changes in the Real Estate
market, including but not limited to, the interest rate market and
be prepared to make recommendations, as well as set rates.Keeps up
to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem
areas and taking corrective actions when
necessary.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related
field or equivalent is preferred.Four to six years related
experience or equivalent.Proficient on database software, Excel and
Word.Excellent customer service skills.Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.Commitment to excellence and high
standards.Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities
and workflow.Ability to work independently and as a member of
various teams and committees.Ability to understand and follow
